Instructions
Making the Crust
Mix all the dry ingredients, slowly add the water, and mix with a pastry blender until a dough is formed.
Divide the dough into 2 equal pieces.
With a floured rolling pin, roll out one of the dough balls on a floured surface.
Place the rolled out dough into the bottom of your pie dish.
Roll out the 2nd piece of dough, and let sit until you finish the apple filling.
Making the Apple Pie Filling
Preheat the oven to 425F.
Peel, core, and slice the apples thinly. (This helps them get done faster)
Put the apples, and all the filling ingredients in a bowl, and mix well until everything is incorporated.
Pour filling into the first crust in the pie pan. Then put the other crust on top. Slice holes in the crust to keep it from exploding.
Place in the oven, and bake for 40-45 minutes. if the crust is getting done before the apples, put foil over the crust to keep it from burning.
Remove from the oven, and let cool...or enjoy it hot with some vanilla ice cream!!
Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks!!
